India Startup Festival 2023（ISF2023）にて招待講演を行いました
Invited Speech at India Startup Festival 2023 (ISF2023)

2023年8月10日〜12日にインド共和国カルナータカ州ベンガルール（バンガロール）市郊外のSri Sathya Sai University For Human Excellenceで開催されたIndia Startup Festival 2023（ISF2023）への招待を受け、本学農学部杉原創准教授と共に参加してきました。
ISFは、インドで急速に発展する起業家に力を与え、その潜在能力を最大限に発揮できるような堅牢なビジネス環境を醸成することにより、スタートアップを飛躍的に推進することを目指しています。今回のISF2023では “自立したインド” に向けて、10,000を超えるスタートアップを集めてミッションを前進させようとしています。
開会式や主催者等とのラウンドテーブル等においては、私から日本の経済成長を支えた理念を紹介するとともに、これからの国際連携の重要性、地域活性化に必要となる新たな社会経済の仕組み作り等について提言しました。また、この機会を通じて、インド全国や欧米等から集まった大学研究者や事業家、投資家との連携を深めることができました。特に、インドの有力な指導者の一人であり本大会の主催者でもあるSadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai氏とは、森林機能を活用した環境調和型の食料、エネルギー供給方法に関する国レベルでの事業開発について協議し、具体の推進計画まで踏み込んだ話ができました。これは、本学が海外の大学や企業、政府と連携し、新たな事業開発として進めるべき重要事項をより明確にする大変重要な機会となりました。
また、本大会では、私が過去に起業したペプチド医薬製造スタートアップの長年にわたる世界的な社会実装の成果が評価され、Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Agrochemistryという栄えある賞をいただくことができました。大変有り難いことであり、関係者の皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。

I was invited to India Startup Festival 2023 (ISF2023) held at Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence in the suburb of Bengaluru (Bangalore), Karnataka, India from August 10 to 12, 2023. I attended the event together with Associate Professor Hajime Sugihara of the University's Faculty of Agriculture.
ISF aims to jumpstart startups by fostering a robust business environment that empowers India's burgeoning entrepreneurs and enables them to reach their full potential. This year's ISF 2023 will bring together more than 10,000 startups to advance the mission towards a "self-sustaining India."
At the opening ceremony and roundtable with the organizers, I introduced the principles that have supported Japan's economic growth and proposed the importance of international collaboration and the creation of a new socio-economic system that will be necessary for regional revitalization. Through this opportunity, we were also able to deepen our ties with university researchers, business entrepreneurs, and investors from all over India, Europe, the United States, and other countries. In particular, with Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai, one of India's most influential leaders and the organizer of this conference, we were able to discuss the development of a national-level project on environmentally conscious food and energy supply methods that utilize forest functions, and we were even able to discuss specific promotion plans. This was a very important opportunity for the University to collaborate with overseas universities, companies, and governments to further clarify important issues to be promoted as new business development.
In addition, I was honored to receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Agrochemistry at the conference in recognition of the achievements of my past peptide drug manufacturing start-up, which has been implemented globally over the years. I am very grateful and honored to receive this award and would like to express my sincere appreciation to everyone involved.
