"Students, the university, and society creating innovation together"

Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) promotes activities aimed at producing excellent human resources who can lead public activities in a wide range of fields besides just academic research. The principles of the "Career Path Support Center Program" and "Agro-Innovation Advanced Human Resources Development Center Program" implemented up to now have continued. Furthermore, in April 2010, TUAT established the "Innovation Advancement Organization" for the purpose of developing human resources, specifically highly specialized doctoral students and graduates, with the ability to innovate technology, create industry, and propose social policies related to food, water resources, environment, population, infectious disease prevention, and other 21st-century issues.

"Innovation" involves proposing new value to the world and implementing it in society. If expressed in a way that is easier to understand, it also involves continuing one's effort to have their research findings, ideas, and beliefs gain acceptance by society, and ultimately providing joy to many people and continuous profit to companies, and even leading to the construction of a new social system. The important point is to firmly think one's idea through to the final destination and be prepared to work hard together toward its achievement. The term "social implementation" seems simple enough, but actually requires deep knowledge and the ability to cooperatively create a society, as well as fundamental strength such as personal charm, foresight, strategy, and enthusiasm. It is thought that everyone essentially has strength such as this, and has the ability to expand it. The important thing is to try hard to expand such strength, increase the number of colleagues who share the same goal, and combine their strength. This university aims to engage seriously with the public and continuously develop young human resources who share this feeling.

In order to create opportunities for students to flourish in the future, the "Innovation Advancement Organization" should enable students to clarify their incentives to explore, acquire, demonstrate, and broaden their abilities, and actively promote the development and practical implementation of new educational programs with the united support of school staff and the public as well. Naturally, promoting the achievement of innovation is an activity that goes beyond the university. The university hopes to reach its goals with the understanding and support of many people both within and outside the university, and we appreciate your cooperation.
