On October 6, 2025, the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology Graduate School United Graduate School of Agricultural Science and the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) announced the launch of the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology BX-GX International Education and Research Hub, which integrates and integrates "Blue Transformation (BX)" and "Green Transformation (GX)", to Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology We signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a collaborative graduate school between the Graduate School United Graduate School of Agricultural Science and JAMSTEC, and opened a course on "Microscopic Science" in the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science of the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology Graduate School.
As a result, the appointment of the Graduate School Collaborative Faculty Member from JAMSTEC will greatly enhance research and education in microscopic science, and graduate students will be able to conduct research and obtain doctoral degrees not only at the Fuchu Campus in Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, but also at facilities within JAMSTEC under the guidance of the Graduate School Collaborative Faculty Member.
In microscopic science, we conduct education and research on understanding the structure and function of living organisms through biological microstructure analysis and microscopic method development based on electron microscopy.
