Declaration of "TUAT Plastic Reduction 5R Campus" Activities
On Friday, August 9, 2019, TUAT declared its "TUAT Plastic 5R Campus" activities, which will promote research that includes the reduction of single-use plastics and the creation of new materials to solve problems, in order to achieve the SDGs and achieve zero petroleum-based plastics by 2050.
海洋汚染の原因とされるプラスチックごみの規制は、2019年6月のＧ２０大阪サミットでも焦点の１つとなりましたが、東京農工大学では、マイクロプラスチック汚染について研究を続けてきた農学研究院 高田秀重教授（現 名誉教授）を中心とする農学・工学融合の研究チームを発足し、早くから本課題に取り組んで参りました。
Based on this declaration of activities, we will work on plastic reduction measures (reducing the use of PET bottles by installing water dispensers for personal bottles, reducing the use of plastic bags at campus sales outlets such as the Co-op store, and working to reduce plastic from university novelty goods), nurturing the next generation through educational activities, and raising awareness through social contribution activities.

This is a unique initiative by our university that adds Research to the basic principle of "3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) + Renewable (substitution with renewable resources)" in the Plastic Circular Resource Strategy created by the government in May 2019.

Installing "water purification dispensers for personal bottles"
We have installed "water purification dispensers for personal bottles" at both the Fuchu and Koganei campuses, which have a water purification function that removes impurities and leaves minerals in. Please bring your own bottle and make use of them.
