Advanced Research Center for One Welfare(T-One)
Message from the Director
In April 2025, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology established a new "Advanced Research Center for One Welfare" as an international research center in the field of "One Well-Fair", which deals with the health, welfare, and treatment of humans, animals, and the environment. Based on TUAT 's strengths and characteristics, "Veterinary and Engineering Collaboration" and "Science and Engineering Deep Tech", the "Basic Policy on Economic and Fiscal Management and Reform 2023" We aim to realize global health.
Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology has set the President vision of "becoming a world-class research university that turns the earth" and promotes a wide range of research from basic to applied in agriculture, engineering, and their interdisciplinary fields. In addition, it has one of the largest veterinary bases in Japan, consisting of two Animal Medical Center, and has established a research and technology development system that crosses fields such as veterinary engineering collaboration. In addition, the Institute of Global Innovation Research (GIR), which was established in 2016, has implemented a project to hire and invite world-class foreign researchers to create an international research network and nurture young researchers.
The Institute will promote research and development in four areas, including "Animal Symbiotic Informatics" and "Nutrient Management", which are the two centers of the Global Research Hub (GRH) project that has been promoted by GIR, as well as two areas of veterinary engineering collaboration, "Innovative Medicine" and "One Health Infection Control". We will establish an international network of brain circulation human resources by establishing overseas branches with researchers in charge of overseas collaboration in each research area and dispatching young researchers from our university overseas one after another. Through these efforts, we will enhance the international centripetal force of TUAT-type "one-well-fair" R&D, and activate international joint research and industry-academia collaboration (acquisition of external funding) with overseas universities, research institutes, local companies, etc.
We intend to contribute to the development of research activities in Japan and abroad and the realization of a sustainable society through R&D and human resource development through collaboration in the fields of veterinary medicine, engineering, and agriculture, social implementation through collaboration and collaboration with TUFS Deep Tech Industrial Development Organization, and international business development through collaboration and collaboration with GIR.
We would like to ask for your cooperation and support from both within and outside of Japan and the university.
Director of the Institute: Masaharu Kameda
