Certificates of completion, academic transcripts, enrollment certificates, degree certificates, and certificates of academic ability (related to teacher training programs) are subject to a fee.

Regarding the issuance of certificates that are not subject to fees (e.g. certificate of withdrawal)

Regarding types of certificates and number of days required for issuance

The number of days required after receipt varies depending on the situation, but is approximately as follows.

  Enrolled students from 2000 (H12) onwards Enrolled before 1999 (H11)
Certificate type Both Japanese and English Japanese sentence English
Leaving school certificate 1-3 days 2-3 days 2-10 days
Additional information 1-10 days 2-10 days 2-10 days

(Note 1) Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, summer holidays (mid-August), year-end and New Year holidays, the day of the individual academic ability test and the day before (if the day before is a Saturday, Sunday, or national holiday, then the preceding weekday) are excluded from the required number of days.
(Note 2) Even if you apply in person at the counter, same-day issuance is not possible.

Regarding the number of certificates issued and where to submit them

A maximum of 10 copies will be accepted per application.
Also, please be sure to fill in the purpose of use and submission destination.

Regarding issuance fees and shipping charges

There is no charge for issuing the certificate.
If you wish to return the item by post, please pay only the shipping cost. (Please see "How to receive" below)

Regarding change of name, name change, etc.

If your name or other details differ from those at the time of graduation, completion of studies, or withdrawal, and you wish to have your student record issued with your current name, you will need to change or correct your student record.
When applying for a certificate, please sign and seal the name change notification form and submit it to the relevant department's counter along with a document that can verify the change of name (either a copy of your family register issued within the last three months, a copy of the remarks section on the back of your driver's license, or a copy of the name change section in your pension book).
If you wish to keep your name as it was at the time of graduation, no action is required. However, for identity verification purposes, please provide documents that link your former name to your current name (such as the remarks section on the back of your driver's license or the name change section in your pension book).

How to apply for a certificate

If graduates or other individuals require certificates that are not subject to the fee (such as certificates of withdrawal), please apply using one of the following methods.

After the scheduled issuance date, please bring a public institution-issued ID (such as a driver's license, health insurance card, passport, etc.) to the designated counter.

●Please send a non-standard size envelope.
●There may be two or more transcripts.
