Scholarship Q&A

Q1. When and how do I apply for a scholarship?

A1. Scholarship application information will be announced on the university's website and SIRIUS bulletin board in due course. Please note that application periods vary depending on the scholarship. You will need to gather the necessary documents by the designated application deadline and submit them according to the instructions of the campus you are enrolled in.

Q2. Can I receive multiple scholarships at the same time?

A2. Some scholarships do not allow students to receive multiple scholarships at the same time (concurrent application). Even if you are applying for a scholarship that does not allow students to receive multiple scholarships at the same time (concurrent application), you can still apply for multiple scholarships (concurrent application) until you are selected. However, once you are selected, you must apply to decline one of the scholarships.

Q3. Please tell me how and when to apply for the JASSO type 1 pre-enrollment scholarship for master's students. Also, how many students apply internally in a typical year, and what percentage of students receive loan forgiveness ?

A3. Please refer to the enclosed notice of acceptance for graduate school for details on how to apply and the application schedule. Please note that the application period differs depending on the graduate school. Also, there are about 150 users every year, and about 1/3 of them, or 50 people, are exempt from repayment.
