Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) Ranked 41st in the World (1st in Japan) in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026: Agriculture & Forestry

In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, released by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), TUAT was ranked 41st globally, 1st in Japan, and 6th in Asia in the field of Agriculture and Forestry. This represents an improvement over the 2025 rankings (49th globally, 3rd in Japan, and 10th in Asia), reflecting an even higher level of recognition. In particular, TUAT achieved an outstanding score in the Academic Reputation indicator, ranking among the top in Japan. This result highlights the university’s strong research capabilities and its high international standing in the field of Agriculture and Forestry.
In addition to its long-standing achievements in education and research, TUAT has actively promoted a wide range of initiatives. These include the expansion of diverse educational and research activities in agricultural and forestry sciences, the advancement of interdisciplinary projects integrating agricultural and engineering sciences, the proactive dissemination of research findings, the strengthening of collaborations with other universities, research institutions, and industrial sector, as well as the promotion of international joint research and the acceptance of international students. We believe that these comprehensive efforts have been highly evaluated and have contributed to this global recognition.
TUAT will continue to further enhance its education and research in agricultural and engineering sciences, while striving to cultivate outstanding human resources capable of contributing to the global society.
