Courtesy Visit to the Samarkand Agroinnovations and Research University and Agrobank Institute of Agriculture

On Wednesday, January 28, Hasanov Shavkat President and Prof. Tilavov Khaitmurod from Samarkand Agroinnovations and Research University, Republic of Uzbekistan, with research support from Muratov Shukrullo Director and Turdiev Jamshid, Deputy Head of the Government Financial Institution Agrobank, Hayiboev Muzaffar, Project Office Director, and Kholodorov Shovkat Project Office Specialist paid a courtesy visit to Institute of Agriculture, and Institute of Agriculture Director Hirotaka Saito, Professor Ryo Kato, United Graduate School of Agricultural Science Professor Ryoko Kawabata, Institute of Agriculture, and Mr. Sodikjon Mamasoliev (PhD student at the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science) welcomed the delegation.
In collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan-Uzbekistan Association, the University of Uzbekistan is promoting a dried persimmon production project at the Samarkand University of Agricultural Innovation, which contributes to the sustainable development of agriculture in Uzbekistan, such as increasing the production of useful crops and improving sericulture technology. With the support of Agrobank, the two universities exchanged views on the aim of further accepting students and Faculty Member, strengthening international joint research, and expanding exchanges in various fields of education and research.
