Application qualification
General selection
Students who have obtained a master’s degree or will be expected to obtain it before the entrance.
Students who obtained a degree equivalent to a master’s degree in a foreign country.

Special selection for adult students
People who worked at research institutes, educational institutes or companies, or who worked after the graduation of the lastest university/college.
The application qualification for general selection is also required.

About entrance examination
We conduct the examination on applicant’s major research field and English language, referring to applicant’s master's thesis and research proposal. If you presented the research papers in English, you may not be required on English language examination after document screening.
Special selection for international students(October admission)
The Doctoral Course, Consistent Doctoral Program and Doctor of Graduate School of Bio-Applications and Systems Engineering, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology develop R&D leaders who can play an active role internationally, by endowing excellent international students from ASEAN countries with advanced agricultural/engineering research ability, technical ability, and social implementation ability necessary for further development of the ASEAN region.

FAQ
Is the examination conducted by oral examination only?
Yes. There isn’t written examination. However, we may consider your performance of master and transcripts are considered.
What do I have to bring on the examination day?
You should bring your laptop or the PowerPoint file for the presentation.
I have not obtained a master’s degree.
If you have not obtained a master’s degree, you can take the qualification for applicants. Consult with your expected supervisor for more details.
What are the conditions to obtain a doctoral degree?
It depends on the types of degree. Consult with your expected supervisor for more details.
About early graduation and the required condition.
The students who meet the specific conditions can graduate in 2 years.
What if I couldn’t obtain a doctor’s degree?
Even if you couldn’t complete the paper, you can take dissertation rexiew within 3 years after you completed coursework without degree. The 1st year after coursework completed without degree, examination fee is free. But you have to pay it from the second year.
