[Interactive] Team from the "Science Researcher Visionary Program" wins the 6th Tama campus Joint Colloquium

The 6th Tama Joint Colloquium was held for two days from November 16, 2019 at the University Seminar House in Hachioji, Tokyo. This colloquium is a student-led exchange program that aims to promote interdisciplinary exchange between students campus universities and fields, bringing together undergraduate and graduate students from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology University of Agriculture and Technology, and University of Electro-Communications as part of a collaboration between three universities in the Tama area.

This year, a total of 130 people participated, including 28 Faculty Member and 102 students, and 32 laboratories and research groups gave poster presentations, where lively research content introductions and discussions were held.

From Innovation Advancement Organization, two teams from the "Science Researcher Visionary Program," "Artificial Gut Flora" and "Msfood," participated and made presentations.

The "Artificial Gut Flora" team combined the different fields of agricultural life science and engineering information science to present an idea for analyzing the intestinal environment using a nanorobot called an artificial gut flora. The "Musfood" team presented an idea for an app that allows users to easily obtain halal information about food (such as whether or not a food is permissible for Muslims to eat) by simply holding a smartphone over the product.

The "Artificial Intestinal Flora" project, which participated in Session C, was selected as the winner of the Excellence Award, which was voted for by participants in each of the three sessions, and was awarded the prize.
