[Interactive] Two teams from the "Doctor Visionary Promotion" won the 5th Tama campus Joint Colloquium
The 5th Tama Joint Colloquium was held for two days from November 3, 2018 at the University Seminar House in Hachioji, Tokyo. This colloquium is a student-led exchange program that brings together undergraduate and graduate students from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology and the University of Electro-Communications as one of the three Tama campus universities' collaborations, aiming at interdisciplinary exchange among students beyond the boundaries of universities and disciplines. This year, students and others from TUAT Faculty of Engineering were the organizers of the program. A total of 145 people (113 students and 32 Faculty Member) participated in the program, and poster session-style presentations were held in laboratories and research groups, where research content was introduced and discussions were actively promoted.
The 32 teams were divided into three sessions to make presentations, and two teams from the "Doctor Visionary Promotion" sponsored by Innovation Advancement Organization "Hicama Green" and "Haruhara", also gave presentations.
"Jicama Green" presented a proposal for promoting safe and secure agriculture in developing countries using plant-based pesticides, while "Haruhara" presented the development of a Halal-compliant sake-flavored seasoning that applies the latest fermentation technology so that Muslims can enjoy Japanese food with peace of mind. Both presentations won first place in their respective sessions as voted for by participants, and were awarded prizes.
