Tokyo Global Passport
We are currently accepting applications for short-term courses (summer study abroad) and mid- to long-term courses in 2026.
The Tokyo Global Passport is an overseas study support program (grant-type scholarship) that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will launch in 2026.
Main requirements and features
- Applicants must hold Japanese nationality at the time of application and throughout the study abroad period.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a domestic university or other institution at the time of application and throughout the study abroad period.
- At the time of application, the breadwinner (usually the father or mother) must have had an address in Tokyo for at least one year. *There are no income restrictions.
- Those who will be 30 years of age or younger as of April 1, 2026
- Must have a certain level of academic achievement and language ability. *GPA of 2.5 or higher (maximum 4.0)
- Support is not available for language learning (activities aimed at language acquisition) only.
- Cannot be combined with other overseas study programs

After filling out the on-campus registration form, please carefully check the recruitment requirements and application manual on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's official website, prepare the necessary documents yourself, and complete your application by the deadline below (details on how to apply are provided in the application manual for university students, etc.).

About letters of recommendation
Please make a request to the Supervisor doctor with plenty of time to spare your schedule. After fully explaining your study abroad plan, please check and sign all the confirmation fields in the letter of recommendation (Application Guidelines Attachment 2).
If you are an undergraduate student and have not decided on a Supervisor, please ask the teacher of the Board of Education.
About transcripts
Failed courses will not be displayed on our university's transcript. Therefore, please create an image of your most recent grades (showing your grades from enrollment to the time of application) from the "Credit Acquisition Status Inquiry" screen on SIRIUS and use it as your "Transcript (Course Registration Screen)."
