JASSO Overseas Study Support Program (Graduate School Degree Acquisition Type)

This is a grant-type scholarship program aimed at Japanese students studying at universities overseas with the aim of obtaining a master's or doctoral degree. Around September 1st each year, the application guidelines for studying abroad in the following academic year are published on the JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) website.

Application method

If you are a current student or alumni of our university (who are expecting to receive or have already received a degree from our university) and would like to apply through our university, please complete the procedures in steps 1 and 2 below.

*Please note that this offer does not apply to international students (excluding those who have been granted permanent residency in Japan) .

1. On-Campus Pre-Registration

Applicants should review the application guidelines and complete their on-campus registration via the form below by Monday, September 28, 2026 (Japan time) .

*You do not need to submit application documents at the time of on-campus pre-registration.

*After submitting the registration form, International Affairs Office will send you a receipt notification email. If there are no problems, the university will apply to JASSO as a candidate student who has been coordinated by our university.

*Registering on campus does not mean your application is complete. After registering, you must complete the application process yourself (see 2 below).

2. Submission of application documents

Those who have applied through our university will receive an email from JASSO (Reception Center) at a later date. Please submit your application documents through the degree application system by 13:00 JST on Thursday, October 8, 2026 .

Application Schedule

- On-campus pre-registration: Until September 28, 2026 (Monday)
Application deadline: Thursday, October 8, 2026, 13:00 (Japan time)
- Notification of results for the first stage of screening (document review): Early January 2027 (tentative)
- Second selection round (interview): One day between January 23rd (Sat) and January 25th (Mon), 2027
*Scheduled to be held online
- Results of acceptance/rejection: Early March 2027 (tentative)
