Degree-Seeking Undergraduate and Graduate Students
To study as an undergraduate or graduate student at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, you must pass an entrance examination.
Although there are some graduate school courses offered in English, undergraduate lectures are basically all in Japanese, so you will need to acquire the ability to attend and complete courses in Japanese.

Non-Degree Students
Non-degree students of our university can be roughly divided into the following four categories.
Research Students
Those who have graduated from a university with a degree or are recognized to have equivalent or higher academic ability can conduct research under the supervision by a faculty member at TUAT.

Special Auditing Students
Students from universities abroad can take courses offered at our undergraduate and graduate schools.
Please note that our undergraduate lectures are generally conducted in Japanese.
■ Acceptance period: up to 1 year
■ Admission requirements: undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in other universities or graduate schools
■Inquiries regarding applications: your university (direct applications from prospective students to our university will not be accepted)
Special Research Students
Students from universities abroad can conduct research under the supervision by a faculty member at our graduate school.
■ Acceptance period: up to 1 year
■ Admission requirements: Graduate students enrolled in other universities or graduate schools
■Inquiries regarding applications: your university (direct applications from prospective students to our university will not be accepted)
Short-Term Research Students
Students coming to our university based on inter-university or inter-departmental exchange agreements can conduct short-term research activities under the supervision by a faculty member at our university.
■ Acceptance period: Less than 3 months
■Admission requirements:
・ Faculty of Agriculture Short-Term Research Students
Undergraduate students enrolled in a university with an inter-university agreement and who have been recommended by the university
・ Faculty of Engineering or Graduate School of Engineering Short-Term Research Students
Basically, applicants shall be undergraduate and graduate students of other universities with an inter-university agreement and who have been recommended by the universities. If approved by the dean of Graduate School of Engineering or Faculty of Engineering, students from other than partner universities can be accepted)
