Why FOLENS?
FOLENS welcomes applications from everyone wishing to play a role as a leader for the sustainable environment of Asia and Africa. Around ten international and ten Japanese students, including both master’s and doctoral, will be accepted every year.
The FOLENS curriculum is designed to effectively develop future leaders for the environment of Asia and Africa, while letting the students manage their study for the program and their degree course at the same time. The FOLENS students gain opportunities to exchange their opinions based on various backgrounds and to discuss environmental issues with an international perspective. The students can utilize facilities and resources at the ‘Coordinator Offices’ and ‘Education & Research Bases’ established in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Ghana, and China. Part of the expenses such as traveling fee for the Overseas Field Training or Internship will be covered by the program.
