Hotel Reservation in Kyoto
Five hotels are listed here and marked in the map with H, G, P, B, and C. The conference venue, Hotel Heian Kaikan, ("H" in the map) can accommodate only upto 120 guests while the expected number of conference attendants from overseas is about 200 and some accompanying family members. Therefore, three additional hotels are recommended for the conference attendants from overseas.
Kyoto is a famous city for tourist attraction. Therefore, there are huge number of hotels in a variety of price levels. You can find your suitable one through your travel agents or through the Internet. CO-OP Inn Kyoto ("C" in the map) is chosen as a recommended hotel for your extended stay in Kyoto.
All hotels listed here offer a high speed internet access in the guest rooms for free.
Hotel Heian Kaikan ("H" in the map) is the conference venue. It can accommodate about 120 guests in there four types of rooms; single, twin, deluxe twin, and Japanese style tatami rooms.
It is mostly recommended to choose Heian Kaikan to avoid walking outside in a Japanese hot summer heat during the conference.
It should be pointed out that one weak point of guest rooms in Heian Kaikan is the rather limited space of the bathroom. It is a compact bath module with a bath tab, shower, and a toilet. If you prefer a spacious one, please choose a different hotel. (It is fair to inform you that there is a Japanese style communal bathroom in Heian Kaikan. Japanese tourists traditionally bathed in a large communal bathroom in a public space rather than a private bathroom attached to each guest room. Heian Kaikan still holds the old style communal bathroom for their guests. Hotel guests can use both a private bathroom and the communal bathroom.)
Please use the special email form and send to info1@heian-kaikan.comto make your reservation. The special reduction will be applied to the SARMAC guests.
- Single rooms: They have 22 single rooms. It costs you only 8,000 yen (approx. US$80.00) per night including service and taxes. For those who like to stay alone, make haste to reserve a single room. The single rooms have only one bed. Not like a hotel room in the US, two guests cannot stay in a single room.
- Twin rooms: There are 31 twin rooms. The room charge is 14,000 yen (approx. US$140.00) per night for two persons. Since the accommodation capacity is limited, please refrain from using a twin room for single use.
- Deluxe twin rooms: There are 16 spacious twin rooms for 16,000 yen (approx. US$160.00) per night. These rooms can be used by three guests using an extra bed.
- Japanese style rooms: It would be nice to experience staying in an exotic Japanese style room with tatami floor. There are three categories depending on the space; a room with six tatami mats (for two guests; 16,000 yen; pprox. US$160.00), with eight mats (for two to three guests; 20,000 yen; approx. US$200.00), and with twelve mats (for two to four guests; 25,000 yen; approx. US$250.00). The rooms with 8 tatami mats are for four guests at most, and those with 12 mats are for six guests at most. However, it is recommendable to use them with three to four guests at most for a comfortable stay. In the Japanese style rooms, there are no beds. Instead, room maids will make your "bed" every night using futon mattress on the tatami floor. In the morning, after you leave the room, the futon mattress will be folded into a store space called "oshi-ire" within the room. It is recommended to consult us before making reservation of Japanese style rooms.
- Breakfast: You can order your breakfast at the time of room reservation with a reduced price (1,000 yen; service and tax included). The ordinary price is 1,386 yen. The breakfast is a buffet style with Western and Japanese cuisine.
