Undergraduate Education
Small Class Sizes
In our department, starting from the first year, the students in each year are divided into two sections, so that the classes are smaller. Especially for drafting and computer-based experiments and practicals, each class is divided into at least three or four sections, so that each student gets sufficient attention and guidance from the instructor.
Two Specialized Curricula: Aerospace Energy and Knowledge-Based Design
After finishing your second year, you must choose from one of two specialized curricula: aerospace energy and knowledge-based design. Each curriculum includes subjects that are specially designed to match the theme of the curriculum. (Click here to find out more about the process of choosing a curriculum.)
Flexible Curriculum Structure
Our curriculum includes eight required subjects (a lab course, practicals, drafting, programming, senior's thesis, etc.) but beyond that you can choose several elective subjects. Thus, allowing students to follow their own interests, our curriculum is aimed at producing talented and trained engineers with a variety of specialties.
Over 30 Laboratories Offer a Wide Range of Possibilities for Research Experience
Our department has over 30 laboratories, in which research is conducted from many different and unique points of view. For your senior's thesis you may choose the laboratory that matches your research interest most closely. This, together with our flexible curriculum mentioned above, allows us to offer a wide range of education options to our students. This is also reflected in the facts that our department is rated highly in the field of technology, that the level of research in senior's theses from our department is high, and that most of our graduates are able to find challenging and fulfilling careers after graduation.
High Rate of Progression to Graduate School
In our department, we take pride in the high level of research conducted in our laboratories. Consequently, many graduating students choose to enter the graduate school to supplement the breadth of their undergraduate studies with more specialized study and research in the area of their interest.
