Preface
The Laboratory of Quantum Functions has been
working with fundamental researches on growth and characterization of
semiconductors, magnetic materials and superconductors aiming at functional
integration of these materials. Recently we put an emphasis on establishment of
nanofabrication and nanoobservation technologies to realize spintronic,
photonic and quantum functional devices.
Topical achievements are (1) fabrication and
characterization of novel magnetic semiconductor that reveals ferromagnetism at
room temperature, (2) linear and nonlinear magneto-optics of artificial
magnetic structures, (3) Epitaxial growth of CoCrPt films and its characterization
(4) fabrication and characterization of magnetic nano-structures, (5)
self-organized formation of semiconductor nano-structures, (6) reparation of
photo-spinic crystals, (7) fabrication of sub-micron structure of Hi-Tc
superconductors and spin-injection studies in terromagnet/superconductor tunnel
junctions.
Our topics in thses two years are as follows: Ishibashi
was given the Best Poster Award at ISEC’01(Osaka), Sato and Ishibashi were given the
Article Award from the MSJ in 2001, Sato and Morishita laboratories moved from
building No. 10 to renewed building No. 4, 19th Annual Conference of
Magnetism in Japan was held at Koganei campus, to which Sato, Morishita,
Ishibashi contributed as chair, vice-chair and general secretary, respectively,
and the Future Nano-Materials project of TUAT has been selected as one of the
21st century COE program of Monbusho, to which our laboratory contribute.
This booklet contains most of the original
papers and some of the review articles published between January 2001 and December 2002 in our laboratory. A
complete list of all the publications including those to be published is given
at the end of this booklet, for which (p)reprints are available.
We owe the achievements to Dr. G.A. Medvedkin,
JSPS fellow, Dr. T. Ishibashi, Assistant Profesor, and graduate and under-graduate
students in our laboratory as well as collaborators in other institutions. Our
research works have been supported in part by Grant-in-Aid for Scientific
Research from Ministry of Education.

はじめに
量子機能研究室では、磁性体・半導体・超伝導体の構造制御と複合化を通じて量子機能を発現する新しい材料開発と基礎物性評価の研究を行ってきました。特に、スピントロニクスデバイス、フォトニックデバイスおよび、量子機能デバイスの実現をめざしてナノ構造作製技術およびその観測技術の確立に重点を置いた研究を進めてきました。
テーマとしては、(1) 室温で強磁性を示す新しい磁性半導体の作製と評価、(2) 磁性体人工構造の線形および非線形磁気光学効果、(3)CoCrPtエピタキシャル薄膜の成長と磁気的、磁気光学的評価、(4)磁性体微細構造の作製と評価、 (5) 半導体微細構造の自己組織化形成、(6)フォトスピニック結晶の作製および、(7) Bi系酸化物高温超伝導体のFIB援用選択成長、磁性体接合の作製とスピン注入などがあげられます。
2001-2002年のトピックスは、石橋がISEC'01で最優秀ポスター賞を受賞したこと、佐藤・石橋他が2001年度日本応用磁気学会論文賞を受賞したこと、4号館の大型改修が終了し研究室の移転が終了したこと、2002年9月に、佐藤が実行委員長、森下が実行副委員長、石橋が事務局長となって日本応用磁気学会学術講演会を農工大小金井キャンパスで開催したこと、2002年に文部科学省の進める21世紀COEプロジェクトとして、「ナノ未来材料」プロジェクト(拠点代表纐纈明伯教授)が選ばれ、佐藤・森下が推進者として貢献することになったことです。
この冊子は、2001年1月から2002年12月までの2年間に刊行された原著および解説等の論文の1部を収録しました。また、巻末に量子機能研究室の刊行物(投稿中、印刷中を含む)のリストを掲げてあります。量子機能工学研究室のアクティビティについてご評価いただければ幸いです。
