Self Introduction |
|
I would describe myself as a cheerful, hard-working person who does not give up easily. I do my best in everything. I have worked for an electric company in China for 6 years. I was eventually promoted to the position of a team leader, and have been awarded a China’s Advanced Worker Award. Currently I am doing research in a graduate school in Japan, and I have presented my results in 4 Japanese local conferences and 2 international conferences held in the States (respectively in Japanese and English). The results have also led to one journal publication.
In the future I’d like to be involved in the work of the electric energy industry, that provides the foundation for social infrastructure and supports people’s lifes.

Research Topic |

Theme: “A Research on mechanism of Electricity Market”
At present there is a need to bring new energy such as wind and solar power to the market to prevent global warming and reduce CO2 emissions. However, these new energies are very costly to generate. On the other hand, changes in the amount of energy produced as well as the costs to generate them are directly affected by market needs and prices. In this sense, my research is on the impact to the electricity market by the introduction of renewable energy such as wind and solar power.
My main publications are as follows:
○ YanBin Xu and Ken Nagasaka, “A Research on Relation between Electric Demand and Marginal Market Price in Deregulated Power Market”, Eleventh International Conference on Cognitive and Neural systems, 2007.
○ YanBin Xu and Ken Nagasaka, “Electricity market price spike forecasting based on neural network and similarity searching techniques”, Twelfth International Conference on Cognitive and Neural systems, 2008.
○ YanBin Xu and Ken Nagasaka, “A Research on Spike Jump of Electricity Price in the Deregulated Power Markets”, Medwell Journals, International Journal of Electrical and Power Enginerring, 3(2):99-104, 2009.
○ YanBin Xu, Jeff Huang and Ken Nagasaka, “A Research of the Impact on Electricity Market Price of Australia under introduce Renewable Energy”, International Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE 2009)

Thoughts on having joined the program |
|
I really appreciate it that I am no longer bothered about living expenses and can focus on my study because of the scholarship in this program. In this program, you are able to study not only business Japanese language, but also Specialized IT, as well as being supported in job finding, so I have found this program excellent. In addition, the teachers are always willing to help me whenever I have some problems in daily life or job seeking, so I am very thankful to them.

Advice to others who are considering joining this program |
|
1) What kind of job do you want to do? And do you want to work in Japan all your life? I hope that you would think thoroughly over these two questions.
2) I think you should study enough Japanese to handle daily conversation before you come to Japan. It would also be better if you are exposed to Japanese culture or lifestyle in advance.
