A few words on the project |

According to the "Advanced Education Program for Career Development of
Foreign Students in Japan" jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Economy,
Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Education, Culture,
Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan, Tokyo University of
Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) invites excellent and highly motivated
students mainly from Asia for our Master Degree program which provides
students with competence in latest information technology for advanced
manufacturing as well as Japanese language skills so that they can play
the leading roles globally in this promising filed.
More specifically, our aim for the program's students are as follows:
- Fluency in the Japanese language
- Familiarity with the Japanese business culture
- Professional skills approved by the common standards: "IT engineers exam" by METI
We hope to graduate 8 M. Sc. program students every year with the above qualifications.
We also aim to develop an autonomous system such that this goal can be maintained in the
longer term.
I have been engaged in education and research on pattern recognition and
human interface for many years. In this career, I have been conducting
several Industry-Government-Academia projects and am currently leading a
project to educate M.Sc. students focusing on human-centered IT
(http://uu.tuat.ac.jp/),a project to renovate tenure-track system for
young faculty members (http://www.tuat.ac.jp/~wakate/) and a project to
develop pen&paper human interfaces at a university-based venture company
as well as this "Advanced Education Program for Career Development of
Foreign Students in Japan".
