They say music and art just go beyond the boundaries of nations. So do science and technology, education and research. They just transcend those boundaries. They are for every and all people.

TUAT's mission, under the scheme of "Advanced Education Program for Career Development of Foreign Students in Japan", is to invite outstanding students form Asian countries into our research community and to foster "global human resources" specialized in the field of "IT engineering for advanced manufacturing" who are capable of taking the leadership role in the global society; and I take responsibilities in coordinating the program.

We use the Chinese character "zai" (財 meaning "wealth" with a connotation of 財宝 "treasure"), instead of another "zai" (材 meaning "material"), for the word "Asia Jinzai" (アジア人財, i.e., human resources < human treasure from Asia). Indeed, we are dedicated to nurturing precious human treasure for our future generation.

Power and passion of the youth from Asia can change Japanese society, Asian society, and global society as well. We sincerely look forward to the brilliant future of the program participants, while offering support to them in every possible way.
