2. Overview of the Kabul University Restoration Support Program
TUAT has concluded an exchange agreement with Kabul University under which it will welcome researchers and students from that school. Researchers will have a chance to learn about the latest academic trends in the fields of engineering and agriculture, while students will conduct research in masters and doctoral programs. The purpose of this exchange is to help support the restoration of Kabul University. Invited researchers will include the head of the Faculty of Agriculture and the head of the Faculty of Veterinary Science.
TUAT is the first university in Japan to accept government-sponsored exchange students from Kabul University since the end of the long war there. TUAT hopes that its concrete human resource support measures, conducted with support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, will make a significant contribution to Afghanistans restoration.
