Doctoral Course of the United Graduate School of Veterinary Sciences, Gifu University

The United Graduate School of Veterinary Sciences (UGSVS), Gifu University, is a four-year doctoral course established at Gifu with the cooperation of four national universities. (Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterimary Medicine, Iwate University, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, and Gifu University) This graduate school aims to train outstanding researchers and technologists with expert knowledge and advanced practical abilities who will contribute to the progress of veterinary science and bioscience.
The UGSVS consists of qualified professors from the departments of veterinary medicine of the above universities the four attached veterinary hospitals of the cooperating universities and the National Research Center for Protozoan Disease of Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterimary Medicine. The students can take advantage to use the facilities of all four cooperating universities. For students who excel, the course can be completed in three years.
UGSVS initiated cooperation in the applied veterinary science field with the National Institute of Infectious Diseases in 2001, the National Institute of Health Sciences in 2003, and the National Institute of Animal Health in 2004.
