Graduate School of Bio-Applications and Systems Engineering (BASE)

The Graduate School of Bio-Application and Systems Engineering (BASE) was established as an independent graduate school in Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology by utilizing the disciplines of agriculture and technology. The School has three departments: Chemical and Material Systems, Biomechanics and Intelligence Systems, and Environment-Symbiotic Production Systems. The regular numbers of students are 52 for the master's course and 22 for the doctoral course. The Graduate School has produced 575 masters and 80 doctors to date. Currently 235 students are studying in the doctor's course program.
Novel scientific research and sophisticated technological development are done under the motto of "Learn from life and create advanced systems." The course attaches importance to cooperation not only with other postgraduate courses of this university but also with institutes inside and outside of Japan to carry on education and research which is useful in this era of internationalization. In addition, the course encourages the participation of adult students and endeavors to give them skills and professional techniques.
