Research theme: semiconductor materials and devices
Research Projects:
Semiconductor technologies are requisite for current electronic and electrical industry which are expected to advance beyond the year 2000. In my laboratory started in 1989, fundamental researchs to create new ideas have been carried out by investigating the following research projects for multilayer semiconductor structures using ellipsometry, recombination of minority-carriers and creating new low-cost ideas for crystalline Si solar cells.
(a) Non-contact characterization of semiconductor devices and materials using spectroscopic ellipsometry and modulation ellipsometry.
(b) Characterization of SiO2/Si interfaces and surface passivation for Si Solar Cells.
(c) Gettering studies for single and multicrystalline Si wafers.
(d) Static concentrators for low-cost Si solar modules.

Key words: recombination of minority-carriers, spectroscopic ellipsometry, modulation spectroscopy, high-efficiency Si solar cells, static-concentrators.
