United Graduate School of Agricultural Science

@The parent body of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science consists of the chairs in charge of postgraduate masterfs degree courses at the University of Ibaraki, the University of Utsunomiya, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology and their attached institutes. This school is an independent postgraduate school with a doctoral course for the latter three years only. The present enrollment is 253, including 93 foreign students. The United Graduate School carries out broad and high-grade instruction and research through the cooperation of the masterfs courses of the three Universities, compensating for deficiencies in fields where a single university alone might lack the necessary depth and scope. In addition, we present general seminars through which wide-ranging knowledge is available about what agricultural science research should be, ways of improving and stabilizing plant and animal production, environmental conservation, securing the safety of products, and development of biotic resources using biotechnology. The number of graduates who completed this course with doctoral degrees has reached 485, including 203 foreign students, rating it highly both domestically and internationally.
