| Museum of Fiber Science and Technology is a museum with a long history, which was originated as a display room of specimens for reference of Experimental Station of Silkworm Diseases affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce, one of the predecessors of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. To fulfill its mission as a university special museum, it has collected approximately a hundred thousand items od academically valuable material which performed an important role of each age to educate students and to lead the industrial world. Stocked with a wide collection of not only general date on high polymer, fiber, thtead, textile, knitted goods but also fiber machines, experimental tools, products of fiber, leather and paper and series of "ukiyoe" of sericulture, the museum is a unique one which shows the past and the future of textile science and technology. |
