Graduate School of Bio-Applications
and Systems Engineering (BASE)

The Graduate School of Bio-Applications and Systems Engineering(BASE)was established in 1995 independent interdisciplinary graduate school in TUAT by uniting the disciplines of agriculture and technology. The school has three departments: the Department of Chemical and Material Systems, the Department of Bio-Mechanics and Intelligent Systems, and the Department of Environment-Symbiotic Production Systems. The regular number of students is 52 for the master’s course and 22 for the doctoral course, including foreign students.

Novel scientific research and sophisticated technological development are done under the motto of “Learn from life and create advanced systems.” The course attaches importance to cooperation not only with other postgraduate courses of this university but also with institutes inside and outside of Japan to carry on education and research which is useful in this era of internationalization. In addition, the course encourages the participation of adult students and endeavors to give them skills and professional techniques.
